For Individuals
The Personal Balance Profile
The Personal Balance Profile (PBP) is a developmental tool that is foundational for our individual develeopmental programs such as navigating career transition, proacive life coaching, crafting a new kind of life/work balance, and determining a satisfying (even breakout) third age. The PBP is available not only as a self-assessment, but also as a 360 feedback instrument.
Other applications of the PBP include supporting Entrepreneurs to launch of their new venture while keeping a reasonable balance in their whole life -- rather than consuming it. To see sample pages from a Personal Balance Profile report, see Excerpts from the Personal Balance Profile.
And, TCI's non-profit affilitate, Core Learning Services, uses the PBP as an integral part of teacher training for delivery of The Compass Course student program. It also is a component of two programs currently in development: a reentry program for returning soldiers, and an initiative for global education of women and children.
The PBP differs from many other personality assessments in that it is a pragmatic developmental tool designed for use over time. It provides a foundation for proactively changing one's circumstances and habits over time. The PBP also provides a logical context for augmenting the usefulness of other commonly-used personality assessment. See a comparison of the PBP to other assessments.

The Personal Balance Preference Scale
The Personal Balance Preference Scale is a forced-rank assessment based on the Personal Balance Profile. It provides an excellent introduction to The Balancing Act methodology by showing you which ones of the 5 Elements of Success you most or least prefer.
This simple lens often provides a fresh, helpful perspective about the potential roots of current problems, and points to ways you might bring new balance to difficult situations.
The Core Type Profile
The Core Type Profile (CTP) provides an assessment of your preferences for 10 basic Core Types or ways of being. The CTP is designed to help people better understand themselves and others with whom they work by identifying the different--and sometimes contradictory--plots that shape their lives. These 10 Core Types are often seen as the central heroic main characters of stories told throughout human history.
The CTP gives people a shapshot of their key issues in the workplace, as seen through the lens of type. This feedback is helpful for navigating signficant personal change, understanding key relationships and improving those interactions, and increasing effectiveness in the face of stress.
